Please note that this position is based 100km south of Perth. The portfolio covers multiple projects ranging from $300-$600M, large-scale haul road construction, conveyor installations, crusher relocations, tailing ponds, NPI infrastructure.
About the role:
- Provision of expert HSE&T (Health, Safety, Environment & Training) advice to the Large Capital Projects Construction Team and Contractors engaged in the delivery of works, to ensure that both the Operational and Mandated Standards for Environment, Health, Safety and Training are achieved.
- Ensuring all Contractors are in compliance with HSE systems, procedures and protocols through verification controls such as audits, workplace inspections, review of HSE Plans, and ongoing monitoring of HSE&T KPI's and metrics.
- Drive the delivery of 'Best Practice' initiative across the Capital Project portfolio.
- Provision of HSE&T Facilitation, coaching, and guidance to deliver Construction goals.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Policies and Procedures and relevant local Legislation & Regulations.
- Assist in the delivery of site inductions and training as required.
- Manage the site access and training and compliance requirements of the project team.
- Lead and regularly update Project Risk Assessments.
- Provide review of Contractors' work methodologies to ensure risks are adequately identified, and suitable controls are implemented.
- Assist the investigation processes and ensure the close out of assigned actions.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (Essential) or higher;
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Advantageous)
Statutory Supervision: BSBWHS414 & BSBWHS411 (Advantageous) - More than 4 years in a similar role.
- More than 2 years of demonstrated Auditing experience.
- Experience within Mining or Civil Industry.
- Conflict and problem-resolution skills.
- Detailed understanding of Safety and Environmental Standards and Legislative requirements.
- Hazard Identification and Risk Control.
- Business and Customer Focus.
- Strong interpersonal & teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Based in the South or willing to DIDO each day.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
What you'll get in return:
- Position is site-based;
- Monday to Friday;
- 40-50 hours per week;
- Weekly pay cycle;
- Superannuation paid for all hours worked;
- Some Saturday work may be required ad hoc during construction phases;
- $85-$95 based on experience, responsibility and performance;
- Performance will be reviewed 6-monthly with potential rate changes;
- Preferred start date: July/August 2026
- 12-month assignment.
