Construction Manager – Solar & BESS Projects (Owner Side)

Are you an experienced Construction Manager with a passion for delivering renewable energy projects from the owner’s side? This is an opportunity to join a well-capitalised and growing renewable energy developer with a strong pipeline of utility-scale solar and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) projects entering construction across Australia.

Based in Sydney, you will take the lead on construction delivery, overseeing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. You’ll work closely with internal teams and EPC contractors to ensure each project is delivered to the highest standard—on time, on budget, and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the construction phase of large-scale solar and BESS projects across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with internal development, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage EPC contractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and delivery expectations.
• Monitor project performance and progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where needed.
• Support the review and negotiation of EPC and subcontractor agreements.
• Ensure all activities comply with Australian construction, grid, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with grid operators, authorities, and stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on progress, issues, and financial performance.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction management, including 3+ years in renewable energy (solar, wind, or BESS).
• Strong understanding of project delivery from the owner’s side, including contractor oversight and stakeholder coordination.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of Australian HSE, permitting, and construction regulations.
