Executive Manager – Training | Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (ACSEP)
The Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (ACSEP) is the peak professional body for Sport and Exercise Medicine in Australia and New Zealand. As an Australian Medical Council and Medical Council of New Zealand accredited Specialist Medical College, ACSEP is responsible for training and supporting Sport and Exercise Physicians who are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and management of medical conditions and injuries through physical activity. Our physicians play a critical role in both elite sport and community health, driving evidence-based, high-quality care across all levels of activity and health.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and strategic Executive Manager – Training to join our National Office executive leadership team, based in Melbourne (hybrid working available). This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the growth and quality of a nationally accredited training program and to shape the future of the Sport and Exercise Medicine workforce.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Manager – Training is responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of the ACSEP Specialist Training Program. The role involves leadership of all Registrar training functions, including selection, examinations, research, and delivery of learning resources. You will also provide oversight of Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) assessment and reporting.
This senior leadership role requires strategic input into training operations, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and staff management. You will also support a high-performing team, collaborate with committee chairs and Registrars, and represent the College in external forums to enhance program quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all elements of the ACSEP Specialist Training Program, including selection processes, exams, research, tutorials, and annual Registrar conferences
Implement continuous improvement strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Provide executive support to key training-related committees and subcommittees
Supervise staff and contractors involved in training, SIMG assessments, and Registrar research
Engage with Registrars and stakeholders to maintain effective communication and program delivery
Contribute to organisational strategy, budgeting, and leadership as part of the executive team
About You
We are looking for a proactive leader with:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field
5+ years’ experience in program management or education delivery
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement policy and process improvements
Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with medical education, research, and accreditation frameworks (desirable)
An interest in sport, exercise, or physical activity
Experience working in a Specialist Medical College, knowledge of research design, or proficiency with learning management systems will be highly regarded.
