ForestWorks provides services to support learning and careers so that industry is equipped with the skills it needs to meet future challenges and opportunities. Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a pivotal role in leading, coordinating and delivering multiple projects, to deliver programs that support skills and training, including ensuring qualifications within the national training system align with industry needs.

To be successful in this role, you will have an in-depth knowledge and experience in working with vocational education and training (VET) qualifications and in stakeholder engagement, allowing you to confidently guide and lead diverse industry stakeholders through training product reviews and development projects.

You will also have a sound understanding of contemporary project management planning and delivery, experience in undertaking research, data analysis and report writing and a proven track record in delivering project KPIs on time and within budget.
What you'll be doing

Lead and manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of VET projects, including developing project plans, budgets, consultation strategies and related documentation.

Collaborate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, employers, unions, Registered Training Providers, Technical Committees, colleagues, subcontractors and the public.

Arrange, facilitate, support and lead various industry engagement activities and events, including Technical Committees, providing logistical and secretariat support, and guidance on VET policy, processes and documents.

Track projects and provide regular reports on project status to project team, management and key stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate potential risks.

Undertake research activities, including high quality consultation with a range of stakeholders and supported by desktop research and surveys.

Analyse research findings, both qualitatively and quantitatively and produce recommendations.

Develop submissions, reports and related documents, including those for public comment and that promote new policy approaches to policy makers.

Record all stakeholder engagement and feedback in relevant systems

Undertake representational activities for ForestWorks, including providing presentations at meetings, workshops and conferences

Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

A Bachelor or Diploma in vocational education and training, project management or business-related qualification will be highly regarded.

Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

Demonstrated experience managing the delivery of projects.

Experience undertaking research, data analysis, technical writing and corporate government reporting is highly desirable.

Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of the forest, wood, paper, timber and furnishing industries as well as textiles, clothing & footwear sector is advantageous but not essential.

Competitive salary range - $116,677 to $144,234 per annum
