THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $114,788 per annum pro rata + 11.5% superannuation and annual leave loading.
Time Fraction: Full time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Chadstone campus – onsite parking and close proximity to public transport.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
Join the Applied Building Technology department as an Education Manager!
You will provide strategic and educational leadership to support the department’s planning, operations, and business development. You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-quality vocational education and training programs - specifically the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) - ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and industry needs.
You will work closely with our subject matter expert teachers to deliver a progressive course that consistently produces award-winning students. You will also be responsible for developing and managing timetables, student enrolments, and providing support to both staff and students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving program development, review, and implementation to enhance educational outcomes.
- Managing compliance with ASQA and funding agreement requirements.
- Overseeing staff recruitment, workforce planning, and professional development.
- Ensuring course delivery, assessment, and student support processes meet quality standards.
- Managing LMS development and providing ongoing support.
- Monitoring performance indicators and financial management to support departmental goals.
- Representing the department at industry and professional events.
This role is integral to fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and service delivery, ensuring programs remain innovative, compliant, and responsive to student and industry needs.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications and recent industry experience relevant to the department’s operations, with qualifications or experience in Building Design or Architecture considered an advantage.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent predecessor or successor.
- Strong understanding of ASQA compliance requirements, the Australian Quality Training Framework, and related documentation management.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve educational, operational, and business outcomes.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating adult education solutions, including curriculum and course development, timetable and student enrolment management, and LMS development and support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with industry stakeholders and clients, alongside a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and leading change management processes.
