JOB PURPOSE

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial and management reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of key financial insights. This role works closely with the CEO to support strategic decision-making and provide financial oversight across all areas of the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESULT AREAS

The duties and responsibilities of the Finance Manager are wide-ranging and may include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing and managing all functions of the finance department

Leading the month-end process, including general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of profit and loss statements

Preparing variance-to-budget commentary and analysis

Developing and maintaining cash flow forecasts

Preparing annual statutory accounts in accordance with reporting requirements

Managing taxation obligations, including BAS, FBT, and GST returns, and liaising with external tax specialists

Coordinating with external auditors and banking institutions

Overseeing the maintenance and integrity of financial systems

Providing performance analysis and financial commentary to the management team

Advising managers on financial strategies to enhance organisational performance

Leading and mentoring qualified accountants and junior finance team members

QUALIFICATIONS, LICENCES AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting roles

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar AND

Professional accounting qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)

Proven leadership and team management experience

Strong financial reporting capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Confidence in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex financial issu Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tools

Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial software systems
