Role Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a local government finance environment
• Strong working knowledge of revenue, rates, and accounts receivable functions
• Proven track record in debt collection and financial reconciliations
• Proficiency in relevant legislation, reporting, and financial software systems
• Intermediate to advanced Excel and budgeting skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of revenue professionals
• Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and development planning
• Manage and maintain the rates book and rating processes
• Coordinate rates levies, notices, instalments, and legal debt recovery
• Oversee reconciliations, audit trails, and exemptions reviews
• Develop and update fees and charges schedules
• Oversee cash receipting, direct debits, bank reconciliations, and payment gateways
• Manage debtor accounts, tenant outgoings, grants register, and acquittals
• Approve financial transactions and support audit processes
• Liaise with auditors, government agencies, and financial institutions
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and cross-team collaboration
