About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial management reporting and in-depth analysis of cost drivers across the MEI Group. You will collaborate closely with team members across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and both internal and external accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the CFO and Finance Manager to provide detailed financial reporting and cost driver analysis.
- Collaborate with AR, AP, and operations teams to ensure streamlined, best-practice finance processes.
- Ensure accurate bank, AR, and AP reconciliations to meet internal reporting deadlines.
- Assist with financial reporting across core and non-core group entities.
- Engage with operations across multiple branches regarding stock management, inventory accuracy, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Maintain and improve management accounting reporting templates across multiple departments and locations.
- Assist with financial and operational reporting (periodic and ad-hoc).
- Support compliance processes, including payroll tax and BAS lodgement.
- Deliver variance analysis on monthly performance metrics (financial and operational).
- Contribute to budget preparation, forecasting, and ongoing performance tracking.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and ensure integrity across group accounts.
- Apply internal control knowledge to improve finance processes and strengthen corporate governance.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards certification (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Experience / exposure with Power BI
- Demonstrated experience in management accounting, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and locations.
