Position Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven, hands-on National Sales Manager to lead and grow our national sales function. This role is central to our ambitious growth plans, focusing on strengthening relationships with major retailers (including Endeavour Group and Coles), expanding our presence in the independent channel (IBA, LMG, ILR, etc.), and actively pursuing on-premise opportunities across pubs, hotels, venues, and events.
The ideal candidate is an energetic sales leader who thrives on cultivating customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and motivating a small but dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Leadership
- Lead the national sales strategy for off-premise (major & independent retail) and on-premise channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national retail buyers and key on-premise accounts.
- Develop strategic customer plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance sales and visibility.
2. Team & Distributor Management
- Lead and coach a high-performing sales team consisting of:
- 2 Territory Managers (VIC and NSW),
- State-based Distributors (VIC, WA, TAS),
- Commission Agents (SA, ACT, QLD).
- Set KPIs and support performance development, ensuring alignment with national sales targets.
- Collaborate with distributors and agents to optimise sales execution and brand representation in the market.
3. Trade Marketing & Promotion
- Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute engaging trade promotional activities.
- Collaborate on new product launches, limited releases, and seasonal programs to drive velocity and engagement.
4. Business Development & Channel Expansion
- Proactively identify and convert new sales opportunities in high-potential customer segments, including:
- Hotels, stadiums, sporting and entertainment venues,
- Festivals, events, and other on-premise environments.
- Maintain a robust pipeline and CRM discipline to ensure visibility of emerging leads and conversions.
5. Reporting & Analysis
- Report on sales performance, customer metrics, and market trends to facilitate insights-based decision-making.
- Manage budgets, pricing structures, and promotional spending with commercial acumen.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years in FMCG or craft beer/beverage sales, with national account management experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing major retail accounts (e.g. Coles, Endeavour Group) and building channel strategies.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing remote teams, distributors, or agents.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and planning skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
- Passion for craft beer and alignment with Two Bays’ values and mission.
