About the role

Laser Wizard Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team in St Marys, NSW. This is a full-time role, responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a range of mechanical engineering projects and services. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibility

• Reviewing project requirements, specifications, and drawings to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
• Conducting materials and labour cost analyses to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Collaborating with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to refine estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all estimating activities.
• Providing support and guidance to the wider Engineering team on pricing and costing matters.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Estimator or similar role, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industries
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and construction methods
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of delivering accurate and reliable estimates
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in using estimating software and MS Office applications.
