About Ellair Solutions:
Ellair Solutions is a growing mechanical and HVAC services company based in St Leonards. We specialise in providing high-quality, tailored engineering solutions across a range of commercial and industrial projects. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our design and delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise directly with clients, consultants, builders, and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide expert engineering input

Lead the development of concept and detailed designs for mechanical systems, including air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and smoke management systems

Prepare and manage engineering documentation across all project phases, from design through to construction and commissioning

Attend and coordinate project meetings, ensuring alignment between design intent, technical compliance, and project delivery

Maintain and regularly update design documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with project milestones

Provide technical support to project and construction teams to ensure engineering intent is achieved during installation

Identify opportunities to improve designs with innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions

Ensure all designs comply with the NCC, Australian Standards, and applicable mechanical services regulations

Collaborate with internal and external teams across electrical, hydraulic, and fire services to deliver integrated design outcomes

Use engineering software tools (Camel, AutoCAD, Revit) for mechanical calculations, modelling, and coordination

Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges efficiently and effectively

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC or mechanical services design within the building services industry

Proven experience delivering mechanical designs on commercial or industrial construction projects

Strong working knowledge of Australian mechanical codes, NCC, and relevant standards

Proficiency in mechanical engineering design software, particularly Camel, AutoCAD, and Revit

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of project deliverables

A collaborative mindset with strong coordination and problem-solving abilities
