About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team at Adeney Private Hospital in Kew, Victoria. This part-time role will support our Accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable financial analysis to drive informed decision-making.

What you'll be doing

Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports

Conduct reconciliations of various accounts and investigate any discrepancies

Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions

Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts

Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors

Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial records

What we're looking for

Relevant accounting qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

2-3 years of experience in an assistant accountant or similar role, preferably within the healthcare industry

Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations

Proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial reporting tools

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly

Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure
