We are seeking a capable and organised Finance Manager to join our dynamic team in Geelong.

About the Role

As Finance Manager for Barrier Group, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations of a growing national business.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will oversee the accounting and finance team and work closely with internal stakeholders across sales, procurement, operations and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll;

Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journals, accruals and reconciliations;

Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and regulations;

Prepare monthly financial reports, including budget variance analysis and cash flow forecasts;

Ensure the accurate and efficient record-keeping of financial documents;

Liaise with external accountants, advisors and banking partners;

Maintain, review and update the business’ financial policies and procedures;

Provide accurate and timely financial and administrative information to business stakeholders to support operational decision-making;

About You

You’re a conscientious and organised professional with proven experience who’s energised at the prospect of joining a growing and high-performing business.

You’re comfortable leading a small team and delegating work but are still willing and able to get hands-on whenever necessary. You’re personable and supportive while maintaining high standards of performance for yourself and your team.

You’re adaptable and flexible to operational needs but still appreciate the value and necessity of processes, procedures and financial controls. You have the confidence to make decisions within your scope of authority but also the sound professional judgment to know when an issue needs to be escalated.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field;

5+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role and proven experience effectively leading a team;

CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification is highly regarded;

Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and commercial regulatory environment;

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Experience with ERP and accounting systems, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong general technological literacy is highly regarded;
