About the Content Development Specialist (CDS) Role: Placed within the communications team, and working closely with staff from throughout the organisation, the CDS is responsible for creating compelling content for use across various media. AMTIL's primary communications vehicles include AMT magazine, the AMTIL and Australian Manufacturing Week websites, and social media.
Key Accountabilities:
AMT Magazine: Plan, conduct interviews, and write original content for placement in AMTIL's AMT Magazine. Formats will vary from short stories to extended features.
Web content: Write timely and useful articles to highlight newsworthy updates in the manufacturing technology industry.
Social Media: Working closely with design staff, create original and engaging social media content for appropriate channels (primarily LinkedIn and Facebook) and repurpose long-form content into smaller, social-adapted pieces.
Projects and Event Support: Participate in the planning and/or execution of relevant events and projects on an as-needed basis. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in communications, public affairs, public relations, or similar.
5+ years of professional writing/content production. Advanced degrees or certification may be considered in lieu of commensurate years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to build rapport and interview others for development of stories.
Experience creating original long-form/resource-intensive content (a background repurposing this content for use on social media and similar would be highly regarded).
Experience creating organic and paid social media and other digital web content in a professional setting.
Strong understanding of relevant applications and technology needed to complete job tasks.
Professional experience within the manufacturing technology industry, or as part of an in-house communications staff in a highly technical field is preferred.
A passion, knowledge and exposure to related manufacturing industries would be beneficial; however, a clear ability to write and develop compelling content is the priority.

Compensation:
The anticipated compensation band for this role is $95,000-$110,000 AUD + superannuation annually. Salary recommendations will consider a mixture of skills and experience.
Work Location:
This is a hybrid role requiring two or more days per week to be worked from AMTIL's offices in Bayswater, Victoria. Infrequent travel may be required to gather information for stories and/or to support AMTIL events. Where travel is expected, significant notice will be provided.
