Senior Employment Relations Advisor
Melbourne CBD | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract from September 2025 | Full-Time (0.8 FTE Considered)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employment Relations Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Based in Melbourne’s CBD, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting our Member Schools with expert advice and practical solutions across a broad range of employment and human resource matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to general inquiries from Member Schools on a wide range of employment-related issues.
Assist in the development, negotiation, and implementation of enterprise agreements.
Provide expert advice on the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and Fair Work Regulations 2009 (Cth).
Offer practical guidance on the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 and the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020.
Advise on employment law principles and human resource management practices.
Support compliance with Commonwealth and Victorian legislation, including occupational health and safety, equal opportunity, and anti-discrimination laws.
Develop high-quality resources for our online platform, isConnect (e.g., podcasts, videos, guidelines, templates).
Deliver and participate in briefings, seminars, workshops, and webinars on employment relations and HR topics.
Represent Member Schools in union discussions and proceedings before the Fair Work Commission and equal opportunity tribunals, where appropriate.
Perform associated administrative and support tasks.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Chief Executive.
About You:
Extensive experience in employment relations or industrial relations, ideally within the education or not-for-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial instruments.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to develop practical resources and deliver professional learning.
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.
