As a Senior Development Manager in the STEM cluster at a prestigious university, you'll be at the forefront of securing significant philanthropic income for groundbreaking initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to build and manage relationships with major donors, collaborate with faculty leadership, and play a crucial role in advancing the university's strategic goals. Your efforts will directly impact the institution's ability to drive innovation in science, technology, and engineering, making this a key position for those passionate about philanthropy and research in higher education that impacts the wider community and society.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Secure Large Funding: Qualify, cultivate relationships, and solicit prospective donors and foundations for support of people and projects above $250,000.
- Manage Stakeholder Portfolio: Oversee a portfolio of 60-90 prospective donors, developing trusted advisor relationships.
- Develop Fundraising Plans: Contribute to the design and implementation of annual engagement Advancement activities and plans.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Advancement colleagues, faculty leadership, and academics to ensure coordinated and effective fund-raising efforts.
- Demonstrated experience working to strategic initiatives and goals and facilitating key partnerships to support them.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a seasoned fund-raising professional with a proven track record of securing philanthropic income, excellent relationship-building skills, and a passion for advancing STEM education and research through philanthropy.
You may also:
- Have a post-graduate qualification with extensive experience in income generation or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Demonstrate a successful history of generating income through fund-raising donations of $250,000 or more.
- Have proficiency in using SalesForce or other CRM systems.
- Show experience operating successfully in large, complex organizations.

The Advancement Office aims to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, friends and benefactors. It is responsible for the management of programs relating to alumni and benefactors and provides services to and works collaboratively with faculties and other central administration areas. STEM Advancement is one of the clusters with a focus on supporting the strategic goals of the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Information Technology, and Architecture, Building and Planning with expertise in fund-raising and stakeholder engagement.
