THE POSITION:
Council's Design team is seeking a Graduate Civil Design Engineer to join the team. The position is full-time and fixed term for up to 2 years.
In this role you will be responsible for the planning, design and documentation of civil engineering assets such as traffic facilities, carparks, footpaths as well as other infrastructure. In doing so you are required to collaborate with other team members and internal stakeholders to provide well resolved designs and advice.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicants must address the following selection criteria in their cover letter when applying:
· Degree (or completing the final year of a degree) in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable for Membership of Engineers Australia.
· Developed verbal and written communication skills.
· Competency in Microsoft Office applications and capability to develop competence in specialised engineering software packages such as AutoCAD and civil design software.
· Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, guidelines, and practices (e.g. Austroads and Australian Standards).
· The ability to organise and prioritise work whilst adapting to competing demands.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
· Fixed Term position up to 2 years, 35 hours per week.
· Position Grade 4, salary range $75,390 p.a. to $88,308 p.a. based on demonstrated competencies.
· In addition to salary, Council pays 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance plus 12% Super (as of 1 July 2025).
