What you'll be doing

• Provide efficient and effective early intervention family focused recovery assessments, counselling and care coordination services for women and families accessing inpatient and outpatient Maternity and Child & Family Services.
• The service will provide hospital inpatient support where required and capacity permits.

• A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Comprehensive knowledge of psychosocial issues that arise for consumers and their families with chronic or acute illness.
• Experience or willingness to learn to conduct psychosocial assessments, group work and crisis management, within person centred and brief intervention models.
• Possess a high-level skill in communication, advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging legislation and policies related to, child safe standards, child protection, NCAT applications, and NDIS applications.
• Ability to design, plan, implement, participate, lead, and evaluate group work programs.
• Effective time management, prioritisation, and escalation with reference to various demands of the position.
• Valid unrestricted class C Australian Drivers licence and willingness to travel for work with overnight stays.
