Craigieburn South Primary School is seeking a Finance Assistant, to provide support to the Business Manager. The role will encompass Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, End of Month & reporting, Bank Reconciliations as well as other aspects of support required by the school. You must be a very organised, neat, detail driven person with excellent attention to detail and have had extensive experience in the use of Excel (basic formulas and calculations required) and worked in Finance roles with experience in accounts payable and bank reconciliations.

Preferred hours 8.30am – 3.00pm (negotiable) x 5 days per week
Hourly rate of $37.05
No requirement to work during school holidays. (NB: School holidays are paid using accrued leave entitlements.)
This is a long-term position, initially offered as a fixed-term contract ending on 2 April 2026. Following this period, there may be an opportunity for renewal under another fixed-term contract or transition to an ongoing role.
Immediate start available.
Requirements
Strong financial experience in the following roles is mandatory;
o Accounts Payable
o Payroll & H.R.
o Accounts Receivable / Bank Reconciliations
Strong excel skills are mandatory (You do not need advance formulas such as VLOOKUPs or pivot tables, but you must be able to navigate spreadsheets easily with knowledge of how they work and how to utilise them extensively).
Knowledge of DET systems including CASES21, Compass & Edu-Pay is not required, but desirable.
Current Police Check & Employee WWC mandatory.
Accounting degree is not required.
Selection Criteria
Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position
Sound knowledge of financial management practices
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office systems as relevant to the position
High level organizational skills, including capacity to prioritise work flow
High level written and verbal communication skills
Capacity to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students and parents.
