The Role

We're looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our tree services business. You’ll be the go-to person for scheduling, logistics, quoting, team management, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys leading a team, solving problems, and driving high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Scheduling

Coordinate daily workflows, crew assignments, and job scheduling

Ensure all projects are delivered on time and on budget

Maintain equipment and resource allocation plans

Quoting & Job Costing

Visit sites, follow up leads, and prepare accurate quotes

Enter quotes into the system and monitor job profitability

Proactively reach out for new leads to grow the business client base

Team Leadership

Support and mentor crew members

Lead weekly team meetings and drive positive culture

Identify and organise training as needed

Customer & Quality Focus

Uphold high standards of workmanship and service

Handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly

Maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all operations meet industry safety standards

Conduct regular safety checks and lead a safety-first culture

Reporting & KPIs

Track key metrics and prepare weekly performance reports

Ensure targets for margin, turnaround times, and quality are met

Your Skills & Experience

Background in arboriculture, landscaping, construction, or trade operations

Strong leadership, scheduling, and team coordination experience

Confident with quoting, budgeting, and job tracking systems

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Safety-focused and highly organised

Tech-savvy with scheduling or operations software
