The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented part-time Account Officer to join our Finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the early stages of their career to develop professionally in a supportive environment.

The role is designed for 0.6 of FTE to fulfil the needs of the Finance Department. The Account Officer will support the finance team in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable:

Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.

Match purchase orders to invoices and verify the accuracy of billing statements.

Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

Assist with month-end closing and generate AP reports as required.

Accounts Receivable:

Generate and send out invoices to clients.

Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments.

Process and reconcile incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all AR transactions.

Assist in the preparation of AR reports and statements.

General Duties:

Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements.

Timesheet Management.

Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.

Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

About You

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) is a plus but not required.
