We are currently seeking experienced welders, boilermakers and mechanical fitters for our client who are working on a long-term construction project of various Offshore Patrol Vessels based in Adelaide.

The Roles:

Welders:

Weld navy ships and off-shore patrol vessels.

Flux core weld and weld with ceramic backing, tack weld, fillet weld, heavy structural plate welding and confined space welding of the hull, structure and internals of ships

Weld to Defence standards, pass 100% x-ray testing of required components

Boilermakers:

Read and interpret technical drawings

Assemble, repair and maintain shipboard production

Work alongside welders, trade assistants, riggers and crane operators

Confident in using various hand tools including hammers, files, grinders, cutting torches etc

Mechanical Fitters:

Install, troubleshooting, fabrication, interpreting and documenting

Ensuring proper function of various mechanical systems

Hours + Location:

Adelaide

40-hour weeks with potential overtime

Mon - Fri 6:30am - 2:30pm

Saturday Shifts (occasional) 6 or 8 hours extra!

Essential Criteria:

Must have previous shipbuilding experience

Must be able to pass medical and police clearance

Flux core welding skills - experience welding with ceramic backing desired

Australian work rights, Confined Space, White card and Police Clearance

Ability to pass a weld test, 2G, 3G, 4G, 3F, 4F (welders only)
