About the role
As our Finance Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations across the areas of business accounting, trust accounting and payroll.
Within our small firm, this is an opportunity for a business minded finance person who likes variety in their work, and flexibility in their day to autonomously deliver what is needed of the role.
This 22.5 hour per week part time role is required over five days per week but is flexible as to the hours each day making it ideal for juggling life.
What you'll be doing
Business accounting including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, BAS and other lodgements, completing month and year end closing processes and liaising with external parties.
Budgeting and reporting including assisting with development of budgets, budget entry, preparing and assisting with monthly financial reports, regularly productivity reporting and ad-hoc reconciliations.
Trust accounting including entering trust account transactions and transfers, bank reconciliation, end of month, maintaining accurate records, managing and reporting on compliance and overseeing the annual trust audit.
Payroll including processing fortnightly pay and superannuation, managing rates and staff financial records.
What skills you need
Essential:
More than five years demonstrated experience relevant to the duties of this role
Highly experienced in using common small business accounting systems
High level of capability using excel as a management and reporting tool
Familiar with financial compliance and Australian accounting standards
Desirable:
Experience in legal sector trust accounting including sound understanding of the legislative requirements of the Legal Profession Act and Regulation, and Queensland Law Society
Experience in or familiarity with Xero
Familiar with legal software
