The Opportunity
Are you passionate about improving capital project delivery and enabling lasting community impact? Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a highly motivated Business Partner to join our Enabling Services Directorate. This pivotal role will help lead the transformation of project delivery across Council by embedding best-practice governance, frameworks, and assurance standards that support MV2040 - our vision for a fair, thriving, connected, green and beautiful city.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the continuous improvement of MVCC's PMF framework, including templates, tools, and training.
- Support development of a cultural transformation process in MVCC and ensure program compliance to deliver the projects it promises on time, within scope and on budget meeting or exceeding community expectations.
- Partner with project sponsors, managers, and governance forums to ensure quality assurance of project artefacts and decision-making processes.
- Provide project governance support across the portfolios.
- Deliver independent project assurance, benefit tracking, and promote adoption of a single-source project management system.
- Support project management system development and contribute to improvements.
- Promote a culture of trust, accountability and collaboration within the EPMO and project delivery teams.
Skills & Experience
Ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and collaborative leadership, underpinned by a tertiary qualification or certification in project management or a related field. With several years' experience in a similar role - ideally within local government - you are skilled in applying governance frameworks, assurance processes and stakeholder engagement across complex organisations. You have a sound understanding of project methodologies, the ability to interpret and communicate technical project data, and experience supporting cultural change and continuous improvement. Your coaching skills and ability to influence, motivate and support others will be crucial to fostering a positive project delivery culture.
