We are currently seeking a Case Manager to join our HSP team in Tasmania working out of our Glenorchy and Launceston offices.

About Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas)

Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas) is a not-for-profit organisation that works alongside people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, so individuals and communities throughout Lutruwita/Tasmania thrive. We provide effective, targeted and meaningful services in the South, North and Northwest of the State.

The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) is funded by the Department of Home Affairs. The program is delivered in Tasmania by MRC Tas in collaboration with AMES Australia. The HSP has an outcomes-based delivery framework, with a renewed focus on improving English language, education and employment outcomes for humanitarian entrants. The program provides individualised client services within a needs-based case management approach. MRC Tas delivers the HSP from offices in Launceston and Glenorchy.

About the role

The Case Manager will provide a pivotal role in ensuring that services are provided to people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

The successful candidate will have

A relevant qualification such as Bachelor or Master of Social Work, Bachelor of Psychology and relevant experience working within a case management model.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the efficient coordination of cases with an emphasis on best practise case management and efficient service delivery.

Demonstrated ability to deliver and to coordinate volunteers to deliver group programs that build the skills and capacity of clients to settle and live successfully in Tasmania.

Effective interpersonal, communication and client advocacy skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external agencies, as well as intercultural communication with clients, their communities and the volunteer workforce.

Strong writing, reporting, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet key organisational and contractual requirements.

Demonstrated competence in the use of technology in a professional work environment.

Sound understanding of issues facing youth people from refugee backgrounds and their families.

Australian Drivers Licence

Knowledge of and experience in the delivery of settlement services. (Desirable)

Lived experience of settlement in Australia as a migrant or refugee. (Desirable)
