Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese Cuisine Chef to join our professional kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Japanese dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and execute a variety of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki, and seasonal specials.

• Maintain consistent quality and presentation of food according to restaurant standards.

• Manage kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory control, and supervising kitchen staff when necessary.

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety regulations, and occupational health standards.

• Develop new menu items in collaboration with management to enhance the dining experience.

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on authentic Japanese cooking techniques.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years full-time experience as a qualified Japanese Cuisine Chef.

• Recognized culinary qualification or formal training in Japanese cuisine preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in a range of Japanese cooking methods and menu creation.

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in Australia.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a passion for Japanese food culture.

• Good communication skills in English.

Salary & Benefits:

• Annual Salary: AUD $76,600 (plus superannuation)
