Insurance Officer
Pay rate: $42.93-45.04 per hour + super
Start Date: Asap
End Date: 3 months
Location: Leichhardt

About your new role

The role is to provide initial assessment of claims and to gather information relevant to liability, for assessment by senior staff or by external claims handlers. No workers compensation responsibilities. Motor Vehicle (excluding CTP) and Public Liability (various) insurance claims types only. The role is to provide additional short term cover and resources to cover leave periods and while a permanent recruitment process is considered.

What you will need

• Maintain efficient and effective processing of insurance claims in line with relevant governance instruments
• Provide regular reports and assessments on management of insurances.
• Provide advice to staff and third parties on insurance claims and insurance policies
• Assist in the development and management of Council's insurance policy framework including public liability,
  professional indemnity, motor vehicles
• Ensure that complete, accurate and current business information records are maintained in relation to
  insurance claims processing and management via claims databases

Essential Criteria

• High level understanding of the principles of risk management.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in insurance claims management, business or related field.
• Sound written communication skills, including providing briefings and writing reports based on data
• Demonstrated ability to work productively and flexibly as a member of a team
