Talent Acquisition Officer - Local Government

Up to $43.37 an hour + Super (depending on experience)
Hybrid
Contract position - 8 weeks

We're partnering with a progressive and community-focused local government organisation seeking a passionate Talent Acquisition Officer to join their People & Culture team. If you're a skilled recruiter who enjoys working across a variety of portfolios, building stakeholder relationships, and delivering real value, this one's for you.

This is more than a transactional role - you'll have the opportunity to actively contribute to strategy, drive improvements, and enhance candidate experience from end to end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with hiring managers to develop and deliver proactive sourcing strategies
• Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment processes
• Write engaging job ads and promote roles across multiple platforms
• Conduct phone screening, shortlisting, and interviews
• Oversee internal movements and support the internal talent journey
• Utilise LinkedIn and other social media to promote the organisation's brand and EVP
• Provide expert advice on market trends, candidate behaviour and best practice
• Be a super user and key contact for the e-recruitment system
• Contribute to talent acquisition metrics reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

About You:

• Previous experience in end-to-end recruitment, ideally in government or a large organisation
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and merit-based selection
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritise and manage competing deadlines
• Confident using social media
• HR qualifications and a passion for improving the hiring experience
