Be the Warm Welcome to a Calm, Caring Practice in Surrey Hills
This is a four-day-a-week role, Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Located among the local shops in central Surrey Hills, The Melbourne Centre for Gastroenterology is more than just a medical clinic. It’s a calm, family-friendly environment where each patient is supported and cared for as a whole person.
We’re a close-knit, team of established gastroenterologists offering high-quality endoscopic procedures, leading-edge intestinal ultrasound, and in rooms capsule endoscopy, among other diagnostic and treatment services. We also work alongside a gut-focused psychologist, a GI dietitian, and a pelvic floor physiotherapist. Together, we provide holistic, research-based care for people with digestive and liver conditions. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that every patient receives treatment that is thoughtful, compassionate, and tailored to their needs.
We’re now looking for someone special to join us as our Medical Receptionist and Administrative Assistant — the face of our practice and an important ambassador for our values.
This role is central to how patients and their families experience our care, from the first phone call to their time at the clinic. We’re seeking someone who is naturally warm, calm under pressure, and easy to talk to. Someone who instinctively helps people feel at ease, especially when they’re unwell or anxious. You’ll be the first smile they see and the steady, reassuring presence they rely on.
About You:
Outstanding customer service and communication skills
Proficient with computers and technology skills — this is an essential part of the role.
Excellent time-management abilities and the capacity to multi-task and prioritise
Confident working cohesively in a small team
Naturally displays initiative and leadership
Self-motivated with emphasis on attention to detail
A can-do and positive attitude with a commitment to patient care
A natural eye for detail.
Proven reliability, professionalism, and consistency in attendance — we’re looking for someone we can count on to be present and engaged on their scheduled days
As front of house, you’re the first point of contact for our patients and play a vital role in keeping each day running smoothly. This role offers a steady and predictable four-day-per-week schedule, making it ideal for someone who values consistency and is looking to balance meaningful work with personal or family life.
To thrive here, reliability is key — we support one another and rely on everyone being present and ready to contribute.
We’re a welcoming, easy-going and supportive team that values authenticity, kindness, and a positive, adaptable attitude. You’ll be working alongside friendly, family-oriented doctors who appreciate professionalism and a can-do approach from our administration team.
