Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight

Accountant $98,887-$103,008 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 5) + Superannuation

Graduate Accountant $91,024- $96,819 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 4) + Superannuation

Your new role

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for public service and financial excellence? We’re looking for a skilled Accountant to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting Council’s financial operations and strategic goals.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial and asset management services. Using your analytical skills, you will support management in the development and preparation of reports relating to capital works, and process financial actions including capitalisations, disposals and reconciliations. You’ll provide expert advice, ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and support internal reporting and planning processes.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

You will possess or be currently studying towards a relevant tertiary qualification and have the ability to interpret relevant legislation and Australian Accounting Standards.

Experience in data analysis for a range of financial activities and use and development of financial management and reporting systems.

Ability to work together with others to achieve common goals both within immediate team and teams across Council.

Ability to analyse problems by gathering information and develop a solution or options to make a recommendation.

Application Criteria

Experience and/or knowledge in financial accounting, management accounting or asset management, preferably within a large and diverse organisation.

Working knowledge in data analysis for a range of financial activities; and development of financial management and reporting systems.

Ability to interpret relevant Legislation and Australian Accounting Standards.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritise, plan and organise workloads.
