Fuse Recruitment are seeking an experienced Food Production Manager for a permanent role located in Wetherill Park. Day shift, Permanent role paying $120k + Super and working Monday to Friday with shift hours of 9am to 5pm.

A National Food retail leader servicing over 150 retail food outlets nationwide. A Specialist in healthy food options and one that is experiencing tremendous growth in 2025! One that drives a family style culture and operates with full transparency within their team.
This exciting opportunity is not within a traditional Food Production manufacturing environment. Our client is a National food retailer and hence this facility purely services it’s own retail brand. You will not be managing production for multiple differing businesses or vendors with differing requirements but for the 150+ retail store locations throughout Australia. Managing the same product line across tore locations with volumes set months in advance!

The Role: Production Manager
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organising team members to meet all production demands required. They will also assist the National Manager – Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Specialist in driving workplace health & safety, food safety & quality standards and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing facility
Role Duties:
- Managing two direct reports, AM and PM shift supervisors who lead teams of 20+ production workers on each shift
- Managing production across cooking, heating, cooling and High Pressure pasteurization lines
- Managing production of on average 50 Tonnes per week of product with 70% being from protein such as meat and chicken as well as Pasta, rice and Quinoa
- Ensure product is being manufactured according to HACCP Standards and meets product specifications (temperature checks, label paperwork, organoleptic etc)
- Manage production team compliance to site’s HACCP standards, and ensure adequate training is conducted within the team to ensure compliance.
- Ensure GMP standards are adhered to and enforced with the team members, and ensure adequate training is conducted with the team to ensure compliance.
- Participate in weekly WIP meeting with Maintenance team, along with National Manager of Manufacturing, to ensure all maintenance requests have been addressed and actioned appropriately.
- Conduct a daily toolbox talk with all production team members (each shift) to relay any safety concerns, updates and discuss production requirements. Ensure all team members sign the Toolbox Talk record form and submit to Office Coordinator to be scanned to file.
- Take initiative and provide a resolution to day today issues with the team, reporting any ongoing issues to the National Manager, Manufacturing.
- Ensure the timely repairs and effective maintenance of site equipment, in liaison with the maintenance team and ensure maintenance handback forms are completed in real time.
- Ensure the shift supervisors are trained on which operators can be allocated to which machine, ensuring only trained and authorised operators are permitted. Ensure shift supervisors have access to the training matrix as required.
- Check and ensure team members have been rostered in an efficient and cost-effective manner in line with the budget, also ensuring that only trained and authorised operators are allocated to machines. Refer to the training matrix as required.
- Ensure that monthly forecast is always up to date to reflect changes and decisions made by the business, and forward to the National Manager of Manufacturing for review and approval.
- Ensure the timely repairs and effective maintenance of site equipment, in liaison with the maintenance team and ensure maintenance handback forms are completed in real time.
- Conduct and lead a yearly stock take, delegating tasks to the team and compiling reports to ensure accurate accountability.
- Assist the National Manager of Manufacturing to delivery any strategic initiatives in relation to quality improvement and increasing efficiency to create more capacity and reduce COGs.
- Implement and optimize processes for continuous improvement.
- Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
The Candidate:
You will be Manager that leads by example. A true motivator that strives to develop your staff’s skillset and to accomplish goals as a team. You will come from the Food Manufacturing industry and have a wealth of HACCP and GMP knowledge and experience.
To be successful in obtaining this role you will also have the following experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Technology or a related field are highly desirable.
- Ability to influence and motivate a team of operators within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results, with a proactive and action-oriented approach
- Strong time management and organisation skills
- Excelelnt teamwork and communication skills
- Strong record of driving performance through Lean Manufacturing principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of WHS policies and procedures, and the ability to implement and lead team on safety
- Proficient and strong knowledge of all aspects of Food Safe/ HACCP environment including reporting
- Excellent WHS knowledge
Advantageous:
- Six Sigma qualifications
- An understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- A background in Engineering
