About Hobart ADHD Consultants

We are a psychology practice located in Bellerive, Tasmania, with a particular focus on providing neurodiversity-affirming services to people with ADHD and those wishing to support them. We provide:

· Psychological assessments for ADHD and co-occurring conditions

· Psychological intervention and support services for individuals with ADHD and their families

· Training and consultation on ADHD-related topics for professionals and organisations

About the role

We are seeking an Administrative Officer who is dedicated to ensuring that our clients’ experience in accessing the services provided by our team of psychologists is as smooth as possible.

This is a casual position, that sits within a small administrative team, and reports to the practice Director. There is some flexibility in terms of start date and days/hours of availability required. All shifts would be within standard business hours, with the expected total weekly hours likely to be between 15 and 25.

Key responsibilities

· Reception duties, including greeting clients upon arrival, answering phones, scheduling appointments, invoicing, and processing of Medicare claims

· Responding to new client enquiries, managing waitlists, and overseeing new client processes

· Managing sensitive and confidential client information as per practice processes, and in line with privacy regulations and ethical standards

· Liaising with practitioners and clients to ensure that administration processes are compliant with Medicare requirements and ethical standards, and that clinical documents are obtained or distributed as required

· Providing administrative support to the practice Director

· Ensuring the practice is kept clean and tidy

Essential qualities and skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy

· Confidence with using computers/technology, and a capacity to learn new systems quickly

· A willingness to show initiative and follow-through, and to take ownership when problem-solving is required

· A warm and accommodating approach to liaising with clients, and to working collaboratively with fellow team members

· The ability to manage challenging situations with poise, compassion and professionalism

· An understanding of what it means to be neurodiversity-affirming (or a willingness to proactively acquire this), and a commitment to ensuring that duties are performed with this is mind

Previous experience in reception/administration in a health or allied health setting is not essential, but would be highly advantageous.

A casual hourly rate of between $33 and $38 per hour, depending on skills and experience relevant to the role
