A leading urban planning firm is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to play a pivotal role in managing complex planning applications, leading client engagement, and mentoring emerging talent within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage major development applications and provide expert advice throughout the planning lifecycle
• Collaborate with councils, state agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to guide projects to approval
• Identify project risks early and work proactively with clients to resolve challenges
• Prepare quotes, tenders, and submissions for new planning opportunities
• Mentor graduate planners and contribute to the team's development through coaching and training
• Provide insights for due diligence, site assessments, and feasibility studies
• Engage with fast-track approval programs and keep up with CPD activities
• Foster strong relationships with government stakeholders to streamline project outcomes

Skills & Experience Required

• Tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning (or related discipline)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a statutory or consultancy planning role
• Deep knowledge of Queensland Planning Legislation and the DA process
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with government agencies
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver timely, strategic outcomes
• Confident presenting ideas and planning strategies to clients and internal teams
• Highly organised, self-motivated, and collaborative in team settings
• Experience preparing planning submissions and project tenders
