THE COMPANY
Our client are a dedicated town planning firm offering comprehensive project services throughout Queensland. Our primary goal is to deliver superior planning solutions that promote sustainable and economically viable built environments. With expertise spanning various planning facets such as development, expert testimony, strategic planning, and public policy, we cater to a wide array of industries and operate in urban, regional, and rural contexts.
THE ROLE
This newly established position offers an opportunity to join a thriving town planning consultancy involved in the development of diverse and stimulating projects throughout Queensland. We currently have 12 staff and are growing. Office is based in Brisbane CBD.
DUTIES
- Preparation, submission, and oversight of development applications;
- Participation in strategic planning and policy initiatives;
- Assessment of planning schemes and legislation interpretation;
- Provision of planning advice across various local government areas and development types;
- Project management of development applications;
- Collaboration with council assessment managers, clients, and consultant teams to achieve positive planning outcomes;
- Review of development plans and technical reports;
- Support for planning research and investigations;
- Contribution to fostering a positive and enjoyable workplace environment.
ABOUT YOU
- Thorough understanding of the Queensland planning framework;
- 5 + years experience in a similar role
- Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation effectively;
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and capability to formulate decisive positions;
- Commitment to achieving high-quality planning outcomes;
- Experience in preparing town planning assessment reports and providing planning advice;
- Proficiency in managing development applications through the assessment process;
- Commercial acumen;
- Capability to mentor junior staff members;
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to manage a dynamic workload in a fast-paced environment;
- Proactive mindset, with a keen enthusiasm for learning and challenges;
- Strong organizational and time management abilities;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently;
- Eagerness to enhance professional growth and contribute to the company's profile.
