About the role
The Climate Change Adaptation Officer sits within the Climate Change and City Resilience branch and offers an exciting opportunity to support the City of Melbourne in transitioning to a resilient, well adapted and zero emissions city.
This role plays a key part in delivering impactful outcomes for our community and supporting the strategic goals of the City of Melbourne.
A little more about the role
Contribute to the projects led by the Climate Adapted and Water Sensitive City team, that reduce the risk of climate change to the City of Melbourne.
Work with designers, project managers and asset managers to implement a new Sustainable Assests Policy.
Manage and deliver projects aligned with City of Melbourne's Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Municipal Integrated Water Management Plan.
Foster relationships and networks that support the work of the team and Branch.

About you
You are comfortable with facilitating project management while providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders. You bring passion, insight, and collaboration to everything you do.
What you will bring to the role
Knowledgeable and have an understanding of climate change adaptation, water or sustainable urban renewal/infrastructure or related field.
Appropriate tertiary qualification in environment, sustainability, public policy, science, or business related field or equivalent level of experience.
Experience in supporting delivery of sustainable outcomes either within an organisation, through influencing stakeholders or through developing and implementing strategic solutions.
Prior project management capability including demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, and to balance and respond to competing priorities
High level in written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including negotiations and influencing skills.
