Senior Policy Officer | Brisbane CBD | 6-Month Contract

Your new role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Policy Officer to support the design and delivery of climate action policies and programs. This role involves working collaboratively across government and with external stakeholders to drive meaningful and lasting change.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting research and analysis to inform the development and evaluation of climate-related policies and programs
• Preparing high-quality policy briefings, reports, and technical advice for senior leaders
• Managing your workload using agile project management methodologies to meet deadlines and project objectives
• Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support policy development and implementation
• Developing a range of policy and communication materials, including action plans, discussion papers, and consultation strategies
• Supporting the coordination of whole-of-government positions on climate policy issues
  
  What you'll need to succeed
• Strong knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, relevant government climate policies and legislation
• High-level research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to develop evidence-based policy solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and clearly present complex information
