🌟 Veterinary Receptionist – Be the Heart of Our Front Desk! 🌟
Full-Time Role – Join Our Award-Winning Team
Are you a confident, upbeat communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you love being the friendly, calm voice clients rely on when they walk through the door or pick up the phone—even when emotions are high or the day is full-on? If you're ready to be part of something truly special, we’d love to meet you!
About Us:
Ripley Veterinary Hospital is proudly ASAV Accredited as a Hospital of Excellence — one of only a few in Queensland. We’ve also been recognised with multiple Lincoln Institute Awards, including Best Lead Practice and Employer of Choice. We set the bar high because our patients, clients, and team deserve the best — and we genuinely care about each one.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position, averaging 38 hours per week, with the following schedule:
Mondays to Fridays within our clinic hours of 7:30am–6:00pm
Rotating Saturdays (8:00am–1:00pm), approximately 1 in 3 Saturdays
Supporting Puppy Preschool sessions as needed
💰 Pay rate: In accordance with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award [MA000118], based on experience and classification level.
For detailed information on pay rates, please refer to the Fair Work Pay Guide.
This is a dedicated reception-only role and does not include nursing tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Greeting clients and pets with warmth and professionalism
Handling phones, bookings, and day-to-day enquiries
Bridging communication between clients and our veterinary team
Processing payments and managing administrative tasks
Keeping the reception and consult areas tidy and welcoming
Supporting email communications, social media, and community engagement
Assisting with Puppy Preschool and events
Educating clients on front-of-house retail products
What We’re Looking For:
A bubbly, high-energy personality — you're the face of our clinic
Confident communication, both in person and over the phone
Strong multitasking skills — you’ll be juggling tasks and priorities, especially on our busiest days
Organised and proactive — always thinking one step ahead
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
A team player who can also work solo when needed
Someone who’s not afraid of sensitive or emotional conversations — you'll handle these with empathy, patience, and professionalism
Resilient by nature — vet clinics can be emotional, fast-paced, and demanding. You’ll stay grounded and calm, even when the unexpected happens
How to Apply – Show Us Who You Are!
Please submit a short video (max 2–3 minutes) alongside your resume. In your video, introduce yourself and answer the following:
🎥 What is it about this role or our clinic that stood out to you compared to others you may have seen?
🎥 Can you tell me about a time when you had to stay calm and professional while dealing with someone who was upset or emotional? What did you do, and what did you learn from it?
🎥 And just for fun... If our clinic had a theme song when you walked through the door, what would it be — and why?
*Only applications containing a video will be considered.
📩 Send your video and resume to our practice manager Tanya: [email protected]
No need to overthink it — just be yourself. We care more about authenticity than polish!
