Are you a person who’s part receptionist, part air traffic controller, part emotional support human (with bonus points if you’ve ever wrangled a lawyer, calmed a crying client, and handled a ringing phone all at once without spilling your tea).

If you're warm, tech-savvy, organised and you understand the importance of a friendly face and a calm voice (especially when people are in crisis), we’d love to meet you.

About Us

We’re Queensland Family Law Practice and yes we are different to other law firm (not possible I here you say, but it's true!). We are a bunch of down-to-earth, passionate family lawyers who love to laugh and cry and don’t take ourselves too seriously (except when it comes to client care). We help people navigate separation, DV, parenting and property matters with compassion, and we’re growing. That’s where you come in.

We believe that how a client is greeted can change their entire legal experience. That first hello matters. So we’re looking for a Receptionist Extraordinaire who gets that. Someone who knows how to bring the calm, the care and a little cheer — while also being confident enough to show them the value of what we do.

If you choose to answer the call (Literally and Figuratively):

Be the warm, welcoming voice on the phone and the kind face at the front desk.

Listen with empathy and respond with clarity — especially when someone’s world is falling apart.

Confidently book consultations and connect the dots between someone’s legal problem and how our lawyers can help solve it.

Guide new enquiries through the onboarding process with compassion and professionalism.

Take payments, book appointments, and navigate a legal diary like a boss.

Support the legal team with admin tasks (don’t worry, we’ll train you on the tricky bits).

Keep the office humming along smoothly (bonus points if you like a tidy stationery drawer).

You’ll fit right in if:

You’ve worked in a family law, trauma-informed, or DV space before — or at least understand the sensitivity it requires.

You’re confident speaking with people in distress and skilled at guiding them toward action.

You know how to build trust fast — and you’re not afraid to gently guide someone toward booking in.

You’re good with tech (we use ZOHO, Outlook, Teams, and some other friendly software).

You’re naturally organised and genuinely enjoy helping people.

You have a sunny, professional attitude (and maybe a bit of sass when appropriate).

You thrive in a team, but can hold the fort solo like a legend.
