On Site Cultural Heritage Management is based on the South Coast of NSW servicing NSW and Northern Territory. Established in 2010, On Site CHM is a small, well-respected firm with a reputation for high quality and ethical practices. What you'll be doing
Preparing Archaeological, historical and environmental background research and reporting
Liaising with local Aboriginal parties and proponents
Writing Due Diligence Assessments, Archaeological Technical Reports and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessments
Leading archaeological surveys, assessments and excavations to identify, record and manage heritage sites and artefacts
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Management or a related field
Significant experience (3+ years) in conducting archaeological field work and heritage assessments, particularly with a focus on Aboriginal cultural heritage in NSW
Strong knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation, policies and guidelines and associated reporting requirements
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with Traditional Owners
A flexible, solutions-oriented approach and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
Adaptable and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet project schedules
Some mapping and spatial skills would be an advantage
A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional and remote project sites as required
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in preparing Due Diligence Assessments and in the preparation of ACHAs. Experience with the AHIMS Database, GIS / spatial software skills, stone artefacts / shell analysis would also be an advantage.
Please Note: we are also open to applicants who may not be able to travel for field work but have strong demontsrated reporting experience.
