About Us:
At Connect Community and Respite Services, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent NDIS services to our clients. We’re a growing company with a diverse team, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented, organised, and proactive Payroll Officer / Bookkeeper to join our team. This position is key to keeping our financial operations running smoothly, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Officer / Bookkeeper, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks, including:
Payroll Processing: Administering payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining payroll records.
Bookkeeping: Recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly/quarterly reports to ensure accurate financial records.
Tax Coordination: Collaborating with our tax accountant to ensure compliance with tax regulations, preparation of tax filings, and management of tax-related matters.
Client Invoicing: Generating invoices for clients, ensuring they are accurate, and following up on payments to ensure timely collection.
Financial Record Keeping: Organising and maintaining financial records, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
Ad-hoc Financial Tasks: Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, etc.).
Strong understanding of tax regulations and payroll compliance.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, particularly when liaising with clients and accountants.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Desirable:
Experience working with payroll and accounting professionals in a small to medium-sized business environment.
Relevant accounting qualifications
Previous experience in client-facing roles or working directly with clients on invoicing matters.
