Due to growth in our team, we are looking for a seasoned Product Development Manager to join our team with a focus on our Haircare and Styling product line. As the Product Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of our innovation efforts, driving the creation and launch of new products that meet and exceed market expectations. You will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring that each stage is executed with precision and excellence. Your role will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders, continuous process improvement, and a keen eye on market trends and regulatory standards. This is a pivotal role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on project management skills.

What You'll Do:

Be the Mastermind the NPD Lifecycle:

Take the helm of the New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle, from the spark of an idea to the thrill of a product launch ensuring each phase is executed with precision and excellence.

Manage all stages, including cutting-edge formulations, rigorous model testing, stability assessments, and eye-catching packaging design.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction in product formulations and development processes.

Align with Market Pulse:

Dive deep into market research to uncover the latest consumer needs and trends.

Ensure all product formulations are not just aligned but ahead of market demands and consumer preferences.

Innovate and adapt product features to stay at the cutting edge of market trends.

Champion Stakeholder Collaboration:

Forge strong partnerships with internal teams such as marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure seamless project execution.

Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory bodies to drive project success.

Decode Market Insights:

Analyse customer insights, consumer trends, and market share data to fuel our product development strategies.

Keep a close eye on competitor activities and initiatives to spot opportunities and threats.

Provide insightful reports and recommendations that shape our market approach.

Ensure Regulatory Excellence:

Ensure all product development activities are in strict compliance with legal, ethical, and industry regulations.

Stay ahead of regulatory standards across AUS/NZ, EU, UK, and USA.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of hands-on product development experience in the hair care or beauty industry.

Expertise in cosmetic formulation, ingredient innovations, and market trends.

Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory standards local and international

Experience working with local and overseas suppliers

Strong understanding of retail product dynamics and consumer behaviour.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Creative thinker with a passion for beauty and innovation.

Proven track record of bringing successful products to market

Bachelor’s Degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field (desirable, not essential)
