Are you ready for a new challenge in delivering high quality videography and photography that highlights the stories that matter to Western Australian communities?
Join a team of forward-thinkers who are as passionate about digital innovation as you are. Here, your ideas won't just be heard - they'll help shape the way WALGA connects with Local Governments and the communities they serve.
WALGA is seeking an experienced media professional to join our team as a Content Producer. In this dynamic role, you will engage our members and produce compelling digital content on a wide range of issues and events across Western Australia. You will also take the lead in driving WALGA's brand new Content Studio.
As the Content Producer, you will have oversight across the entire organisation, becoming the go-to person for high quality photography, videography and post-production. You will work closely with the Manager Media and Communications to create videos, film and record interviews and generate engaging digital content that highlights and advocates for the critical work of WA Local Governments.
This role also offers a unique opportunity to champion our new Content Studio, working with the Media and Comms team, special guests and Local Government members to produce impactful podcasts.
What a typical week looks like
Every day is unique in the Advocacy team at WALGA, so while it's rarely typical, we do have a proactive media plan and events cycle. The Content Producer role, in addition to this will work across the organisation, harnessing their skill set to effectively capture WALGA’s extensive advocacy and services whilst showcasing the impact of Local Governments across the State.
You might spend a week at the Convention Centre as the main photographer for events like WALGA's Annual Local Government Convention or a day at our People and Culture Seminar. Other weeks, you could be liaising with external stakeholders organising interviews for the Podcast Studio or working on a video brief for our digital platforms. One day, you could be in communities capturing digital content for WALGA's Annual Report or Western Councilor publication. The next, you could be racing to an impromptu press conference to snap the perfect shot.
This role comes with a healthy dose of adventure - expect some travel across Western Australia and the occasional after-hours assignment. It's all part of the fun!
Who will you be working with?
As part of our highly engaged Advocacy team, this role sits within the Media and Communications team and offers plenty of autonomy. You will collaborate closely with the Marketing and Events team and our in-house Graphic Designer to enhance and amplify existing content, bringing our ideas to life while ensuring it hits the mark with our online audiences.
You will also liaise with other WALGA portfolios to provide expert advice on digital marketing briefs, collaborate on campaigns, and ensure initiatives are firing on all cylinders, in support of the WALGA’s five-year strategic plan.
Enough about us. Let’s talk about you.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for photography and videography, but also experience:
• Working in media in a Content Producer or Video/Digital Content Producer role
• Creating engaging content with advanced editing and production skills
• Filming and editing short and long form digital video and photo content in tight timeframes
• In production equipment, podcast postproduction and a drive to keep on top of emerging technologies
• Working in/running a podcast, content or innovation studio, or similar
• In Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Lightroom
• Interacting with a wide range of diverse people and personalities and enjoy it!
