The Role
The Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems Maritime, Systems Program Office (EWIS- M SPO), is seeking applications from an experienced Technical Specialist Manager - Configuration to work on acquisition and sustainment configuration management activities for sensors related electronic warfare products, fitted to Royal Australian Navy (RAN) platforms. As an EL 1 Technical Specialist Manager - Configuration, you will be responsible to lead, plan and deliver critical and highly complex technical activities at the system and program level. You will be expected to provide expert configuration management advice and direction to a variety of technical peers whilst working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
In this high tempo role you will be responsible for exercising assigned technical authorities and any Seaworthiness Materiel Governance Authority delegations. As the EL 1 Technical Specialist Manager – Configuration, your role plays an integral part in assuring compliance with the Defence Seaworthiness of EWIS-M SPO products.
You will maintain the integrity and security of products through ongoing governance and risk mitigation strategies whilst assessing technical work packages, reports, processes, product and equipment performance content to meet specified requirements. The successful candidate may be able to commence the role with a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance however; will require the ability to obtain and hold a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance.
About our Team
EWIS-Maritime SPO currently manages a number of electronic warfare systems fitted to both the surface and sub-surface fleet, such as the Nulka Decoy product and various Sensors and Electronic Attack products in both acquisition and sustainment phases.
The EWIS-Maritime SPO delivers these capabilities to both the Australian Defence Force and the United States Navy. EWIS-M SPO is widely dispersed across Australia, with this position based in Russell, ACT.
This role will be part of a team which is working to deliver integrated electronic warfare systems to Navy under a continuous capability development and delivery framework. The successful applicant will participate in an integrated team, including APS, military and contractor staff, to ensure the supported Electronic Warfare capabilities are delivered to the ADF and supported in accordance with operational and compliance requirements, budget, and service agreements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven Experience to lead, plan and deliver critical, very complex technical activities within the specialist field of configuration management and provide advice while working to agreed priorities and outcomes;
- Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills;
- Capacity to think strategically and develop configuration management plans and processes which include safety aspects of Defence capability activities, to enhance the achievement of project and program management outcomes;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks with varying levels of complexity;
- High level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives;
- Experience assessing technical and configuration packages, reports, processes, product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements;
- Implement technical knowledge and processes within the technical and configuration fields to develop advancements with established technical code of practices, techniques, methods and regulations; and
- Ability to engage in continuous improvement and innovation with the Australian Defence Industry sector and stakeholders.
