CQUniversity’s Finance Directorate plays a crucial role in shaping the University’s financial strategy through expert advice, robust planning, and informed analysis. By leading key functions such as budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, the team supports effective decision-making and long-term sustainability. As a Business Solutions Advisor, you will contribute directly to these outcomes by enhancing systems and delivering meaningful insights that support financial performance.
About the Position
In this role, you will maintain and enhance our suite of Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS), including costing and budget models. You’ll work closely with the Senior Business Advisor (Services and Capital) to deliver detailed financial analysis, support the University’s planning cycles, and provide system-based solutions that improve data integrity, forecasting accuracy, and process efficiency.
You’ll also play a key role in preparing and maintaining annual budgets and forward projections, delivering insights that align with the University’s strategic direction while managing financial risks in collaboration with stakeholders across the institution.
With experience in medium to large-scale Financial Management Information Systems, you’ll lead system improvements, support end users, and ensure our financial tools meet both strategic and compliance needs. Your contributions will help drive smarter resource decisions and long-term financial sustainability across the University.

Position Requirements
Financial Expertise – Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
Systems Knowledge – Demonstrated experience supporting and enhancing medium to large-scale Financial Management Information Systems, ensuring data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Analytical Thinking – Proven ability to investigate financial issues, assess risks, and provide evidence-based recommendations aligned with policy and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience – A relevant degree and extensive experience in management accounting or financial systems, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, present financial information clearly, and meet tight deadlines.
