About the Role
Due to recent internal promotions and ongoing growth, we currently have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified planner to join our Planning and Development team; a professional who enjoys the challenges and diverse opportunities of a planning environment undergoing significant transformation.
Reporting to the Coordinator Statutory Planning, you will be responsible for the assessment of development and subdivision applications with a focus on customer experience. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide professional advice to the organisation and community on a range of planning matters in a way that positively contributes to the organisational culture.
The skills and experience that applicants should possess include:
Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.
Comprehensive knowledge of town planning principles and Western Australian statutory planning legislation, procedures, policies and practices with an ability to interpret plans.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, networking and relationship building skills with an ability to provide a high level of customer-centric service.
Proven ability to work constructively with others in a team environment and to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Highly developed analytical ability and skills in creative thinking, independent research, negotiation and problem-solving.
Highly developed project management, planning and organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and meet challenging timeframes.
Well-developed computer literacy skills.
Possession of a driver’s licence.
Previous experience in Planning in Local Government or similar role desirable.
