About the Position

The Development Services Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that development within the City complies with relevant legislation, policy and operating procedures relating to the application of relevant acts. This position is also responsible for ensuring legislated obligations with respect to the inspection of private swimming pool and spa barriers are met.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the building industry, urban planning compliance or related administrative support.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Well-developed evidence collection and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders and deliver high level customer service.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of statutory provisions relating to swimming pools - desirable.
  • Previous experience in Local Government - desirable.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • A current National Police Clearance.
