About the Opportunity

As a Statutory Planner, you’ll play a key role in assessing a wide range of planning applications—from new developments and land use changes to complex subdivisions and scheme amendments. This role offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where you can make a tangible impact on the community. Your responsibilities will include:

Interpreting and administering statutory planning frameworks

Assessing and processing development and subdivision applications

Reviewing building permits against development approvals and exemptions

Reviewing and assessing development and planning applications

Providing exceptional customer service on statutory planning matters, ensuring inquiries are handled efficiently and professionally

Collaborating with other team members to support the continuous improvement of our statutory planning processes.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential

Tertiary qualification in Town Planning (or equivalent relevant qualification or experience) or Eligibility for Full Membership with the Planning Institute of Australia

Experience in researching and investigating legislation and policy in relation to planning matters

Knowledge of statutory town planning schemes legislation and other supporting legislation

Ability to interpret complex planning frameworks, apply appropriate discretion where appropriate and provide concise advice.
