The Role

We are seeking an experienced SMP (Structural, Mechanical, and Piping) Estimator to join a dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely execution of estimates, contributing to the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabrication, welding, and surface protection processes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed estimates for fabrication, piping, mechanical, and welding activities.

Interpret and analyze technical drawings and client RFQs to prepare accurate Material Take-Offs (MTOs).

Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide tailored solutions.

Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and service costings.

Coordinate with the production team to monitor delivery status of parts and services.

Assess and estimate required labor hours and lead times for project components.

Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience in an SMP Estimator role within the fabrication and welding industry.

Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.

In-depth knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and pipework processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
