Join a leading university in Sydney as the Lead Data Modeller on a day rate contract through to the end of 2025, with strong potential for a fixed term role. This key position supports a major HR program, leading the design and implementation of scalable enterprise data solutions using Data Vault and Star Schema architectures to enable robust analytics and reporting.

Duties

• Lead the definition, development, and implementation of the Enterprise Data Model for assigned projects.
• Design and maintain scalable, high-performance data models (Data Vault and star schema) to support strategic reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and analytical requirements, translating them into logical and physical data models.
• Develop and maintain essential data artefacts including Data Dictionaries, DDLs, DMLs, and Change Registers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring on data modelling best practices across engineering and analytics teams.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and traceability across multiple systems, and resolve production issues related to data models.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Data and Analytics, Data Science, Business, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Erwin Data Modeller and hands-on experience in Data Vault 2 and dimensional data modelling.
• Strong knowledge of database tools (preferably Snowflake) and advanced SQL skills for troubleshooting and data navigation.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow tools such as Snowflake, JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, DBT, and Airflow.
• Experience with DBT is highly regarded.
• Proven expertise in data modelling for enterprise-scale data warehouses and analytics environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, architecture, and integration best practices.
• Familiarity with database technologies and ETL processes.
