The Company:

A leading Australian brand based in Sydney requires a contract data engineer to work on several projects to support multiple business units across the enterprise. Leverage your expertise within Azure to expand these capabilities and be part of a team enabling data driven decision making. Play an integral role in the implementation and delivery of MS Azure projects. You must be based in Sydney and be able to work in-office 3 days per week.

The Role:

• Development, maintenance and support of scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingesting data into Azure via ADF resulting in improving access to business relevant data.
• Design and implementation of optimised data pipelines from multiple sources using Azure Data Factory.
• Use Azure services for DevOps purposes, including scheduling and deployment and ETL of large datasets (Azure DevOps).
• Build & maintain CI/CD Pipelines.
• Contribute to the definition of data modeling and design standards, best practices and related development for enterprise MS data models.
• Collaboration with BI team to ensure access to clean and scalable data sets for reporting and dashboards built in PowerBI.
• Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup).

Your Skillset:

• Information Technology degree/diploma; Certification in MS Azure (ADF, Analytics) highly desirable.
• 5+ years of experience within an Azure technical stack including Azure SQL, ADF, Azure Data & Analytics PaaS, Azure DevOps, CI/CD in a big data volume, enterprise environment.
• Expertise in SQL including design, implementation & maintenance of SQL solutions, SQL Analytic functions & performance tuning.
• Strong hands-on DevOps for Microsoft Data Warehouse, BI & Analytics solutions.
• Enterprise data warehouse & data modeling skills in an enterprise organisation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Adaptable and driving innovation, active contribution to team success on project delivery.
